What is the current state for house environments such as gardens? So far I have only seen some trees to arrange, but it should not be that hard to arrange all different types of plants on a plain map, when the models are there. The angle could be adjusted before add it to plane. The roof will also be removed if you delete the story that it rests on. This roof has a roof surface that will not stretch the texture.
To change the shape of the outline, you can move contour points. The program lets you add automatic and custom roofs. Both roof types can be present on the same floor. In this case, a custom roof takes the specified area, and an auto roof takes the rest. It is recommended that you use auto roofs wherever possible. You can set up the properties of a custom roof in the Inspector.

You can also adjust the height of the new level later under the Plan tab again by selecting Modify level. I've already exclude Jama.utils.maths while I've modify the dependencies with Math.hypot. Wile I'm not a programmer I'll try to make this one better.

Custom roofs are only available in the Pro edition. Same thread as above - here is a modified roof. However, the simplicity also suffers and the geometry does no longer match, so it does not really work with the other elements.
For our project the most important is creating the room dimensions of our little house. I could work without roof, but actually to get a real impression it would be important to add a roof. The Change Roof Type command actually recreates the roof from scratch.

This means that the materials applied to the original roof will be replaced with default ones. All objects installed into the roof (e.g. windows or dormers) can disappear. The same happens when you call the Make Roof Editable command. You should, therefore, use these commands as early in your workflow as possible.
I managed the part of the tutorial until page 9 where I used the "Copy as new furniture"-plugin and pasted. But I don't get the roof pasted to the walls and I don't get the triangles created like that. To convert an auto roof to a custom roof, choose Make Roof Editable from the context menu of the roof.
Hi, I've just started using Sweet Home 3D - is it possible to add a roof to my 3D model? But mentioning it is a good idea because it thanks the authors of Jama and avoids other people to look for a possible omission in licences list. Adding a note about it in README.TXT is probably enough. Now You don't need to set a rotation angle for texture, just select 1, few or all and set texture at once. To add or delete an auto roof, use the Building tab of the Inspector.
To modify the shape of a custom roof, right-click on it and choose Edit Contour Geometry from the context menu. The resize handles will disappear indicating the contour editing mode. The program will display the object's outline with handles at corners called "contour points".
As I've already say, I will try another approach . A paid version available on the Mac App Store, sandboxed, automatically updated and bundled with 1500 pieces of furniture and 418 textures. A free version available at SourceForge.net bundled with 100 pieces of furniture and 26 textures. Try to fix a bug which prevent loading plugin on some OS with global language settings other than en_US. It's my fault to forget to add this license but I'll fix it in next version IF I will still use it.
Unfortunately this plugin left YAUP category and go to Normal Plugins. Don't work as expected on complex shapes like E or round. The Roof Assistant opens up when you add a new roof, and when you run the Change Roof Type command. The Roof Assistant helps you add a standard roof to your building.
As soon as you finish drawing a roof, the program will open the Roof Assistant where you can choose the roof type. Gardens would require some "terra forming" tool to give the various elevation points of the ground, and more models of plants and trees. Currently I feel like SweetHome3D is good for flats and multi-stage flats, but not for houses. I deliberated long for which tool I would use for planning the house.
To remove a contour point, right-click on it and select Remove Contour Point. After a roof has been created, the corresponding button in the Inspector changes its function from adding to removing. Auto roofs are designed so that they take all of the available space. This area is defined by the contour of the external walls, or the contour of the floor.
Deleting a Roof
The angle could be adjusted before add roof to home plane. I tried it with a 25deg hipped roof for an L shaped house and it worked well. To set percentage and angle for a corrugated texture for each roof section was quick. Now I will attach the flashings and other details. Just for the sake of clarity about licences, I add that the Jama library included in this plug-in is available in public domain.
